Life is full of opportunities

I’ve read somewhere that opportunities arrives for those that are prepared for them.

And I believe that is true. You can’t take advantage of an opportunity if you are not ready to for it, either with the skills that you have or either with your mindset. And if you are not prepared to take it, can we really call it an opportunity? Because an opportunity is “a time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something“(Oxford Dictionary).  Continue reading Life is full of opportunities

Handling the daily stress

In our day and age, we have to cope with huge amounts of stress on a daily basis.  Oxford dictionary is telling us that stress is a  state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances.

Breaking down procrastination

Procrastination = the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention.

This past week-end, I had big plans. I wanted to write one or two chapters for Imperial Struggle, write some four to five articles for this blog, work on some other projects that I have, make some food and many other stuff. Do you know what I’ve managed to do? Almost nothing. I didn’t do any writing, and didn’t make myself any food (actually I’m doing it right now) and overall I did nothing. I spent all my weekend watching some movies, browsing on the internet and did some light reading. Continue reading Breaking down procrastination

I’m doing great

I'm doing great“How are you doing?”

“I’m fine”

Most of the time this how a conversation starts. To the question “How are you” or “How are you doing” the response is usually automatic “I’m fine” or “I’m ok” or just “Ok”. And the tone we say fine and OK, most of the time it’s sad and without life. We almost never realise this automatism we made.

We answer in a way that even we aren’t convinced that we are fine. We just don’t want to bother the other person with our problems. The thing is the other person doesn’t want to hear your problems and he expects that you will answer “I’m ok” and move on. Continue reading I’m doing great

Essential skill in life: cooking

I’m 25 years old. At 19 I left home and went to college. In my first year I received almost weekly a package from home with food( If you’re not from Romania you won’t understand this tradition). In my second year I told my mom to send those every 2 or 3 weeks. In my 3rd year  the “package from home” almost disappeared because I wanted to learn how to cook by myself. I wanted to eat meals that were done by my own hand and by own taste.  Continue reading Essential skill in life: cooking
