A while back, I was writing how I became a morning person. Since then, my morning schedule has changed a lot, and now my alarm is ringing at 4:30 in the morning. When they find out, most of the people (all of them actually), always ask me “Why do you wake up at such an hour?”.
My first reaction is “Because I can”. And yes, one of the reasons that I do this, is because I can. If I couldn’t wake up at 4:30 in the morning I wouldn’t do it. There was a day when I was so tired that instead of 4:30 I waked up at 5 o’clock ( oh, the horror! some will say). In my long history of the waking up in the morning either at 6, 5 or 4:30 now, I understood how my body and brain works. I know my limits and I know how to push myself to achieve what I want. So, yeah, I wake up at 4:30 in the morning, because I can.
The other reason why I do this, is to have a jump start for the rest of the day.
I work 8 hours per day, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Add the travel time to the office and I have almost 10 hours that I dedicate from my time to my job. That is quite a lot of time to spend from 24 hours. After work, like most of the people with a job, I come home tired. Most of the time without the mood or energy to do anything. My evenings are almost always spent doing small stuff, because I can’t, or don’t want to, do anything else.
So this is leaving me only the morning to work on the stuff that I really want to work on. This is the 3rd week since I’m waking up at 4:30. Since then I started to work on my first web novel, posted a bunch of stuff on this blog and overall I feel a lot better because I start my day doing the things I like.
We are most productive in the morning, when our energy is at its peak. Why I would wait until the evening to work on my projects, when I could do the work in the morning.
I still have a lot of work ahead of me, creating a good workflow in the morning, but hey, I just started. I can’t expect to figure everything out on the first day. I take it day by day. But I will continue to improve my morning routines until I will achieve the best result. Or an even better one, because results that I have now are good as well.
I think now it’s more clear on why do I wake up at such crazy hours in the morning. What do you think about my wake up time?
